Doug,
Words can't describe the place, so I would never do it justice. Suffice to say, we had a mega time, did approx 20 - 22 laps (can't remember how many, as peeps kept paying for the ticket for me to take them out
). Car performed superbly, despite a misfire due to the leads dropping down into the line of fire of the breather outlet and getting covered in oil, which meant reduced boost
. All sorted now though
.
Highlight was following the Ring taxi (new M5) with only 1.3 - 1.5 bar of boost (it had the legs on us on the straights, but we were more than able to make that up on brakes and cornering) and then finally overtaking at Adenau bridge (he did not want to let us get past and kept hogging as far left as he could all the time
) and then didn't see him from then on. Was extremely cool when one of the passengers in the Taxi came over and tell us that the Ring taxi driver had been well impressed with the handling of the 'Scort

Superb Mike, I love reading stuff like that...........
Between me/my mates we have around 200-300 pics + over an hour of footage, all-beit mainly of us buggering around, only two in car laps (my 2nd + 3rd laps which were pretty steady).
Will post some when they're all sorted I'm sure. I'll also keep an eye out of the usual photo sites for pics Mike. Was a top weekend.
Doug first time ive ever took the car on track and what an experiance, as mike says you cant put it into words, its just a petrol heads heaven it seemed like every second car was a GT3 porka

The VW lads had a secret cam hidden in a fog light and they had it on in the hotel bar. All i can say is amazing, the quality of the footage is unreal. There is 3 hours worth and will try to get hold of it all when he sends me footage of mine.
I'm so gutted that I won't be able to go this year. Was hoping to go in september but it looks like the wife will be dropping our first around then so I darn't be out of the country

Have loads of photos & video from the weekend - will sort u that DVD John, can even try post a short clip here if u want If anybody's going shortly - can highly reccomend trecking upto Adenauer Forst (spelling) bends where we saw loads of offs, long walk up steep hill but well worth it. Loads of stunning machinery there to see this weekend
Chris
Now,i did not read anything but the thread title on this one so excuse me if i have gotten it all wrong. The "Ring Trip" round my parts means a sexual act performed between 2 consenting males, age is irrelevant and to be honest i heard the bigger the cock and the tighter the arse adds up to pretty much the ultimate experience.I must add this for me is theory and not practise,as the only item that goes in and out of my arse is a rather large crap, you may be confused by the "in" so let me explain,i am a self practising homosexual,if the crap is the right feel i let my anal muscles pull it in and out, this way i can get the feel of many sizes.I do apologise again if i got the thread all wrong.

1. Get as many laps as possible as a passenger before going out in your own car, just to get a "feel" for the place.
2. Drive at your own pace.
3. Keep an eye on your mirrors and pull over to let people over-take on the LEFT (just like at a track day).
4. Don't get over-confident.
5. Have fun
.
Obviously ensure the car has been serviced before hand, full set of pads, good tyres etc (just like a normal track day).

I did my first lap ever on friday was really nervous i just took my time and made sure i was very aware of what was going on round me, then mike over took me
Second lap i put a much quicker lap in, me and chip were doing lap after lap, coming off track cool down lap up the road and quick change of driver and back on.
I did misread one corner where i came in far too quickly and went flying over the armco and came to a bumpy stop on the grass
