Hello mate,
This looks like one not to miss,
http://bbs.rsownersclub.co.uk/showthread.php?t=73548
I know it is over the budget but trust me that little extra is going to make a huge difference, at 2K expect a rotten shell, I bought mine and it looked ok, a battery tray and inner wing weld cost me £250 and that was not sprayed in.
This looked solid and will save you £££££ in the long run as most have rott everywhere.
Points to look out for are:
Rust
Battery tray
Inner wings (big job if in need of replacement)
Outer wings
Wheel arches behind kit
Slam panel at ends near wings
Sunroof - suround and resess and look in the sunroof resses at the underside of the roof
around window front and rear
Sills (big job)
Floor pan, get the carpet up in foot wells, will defo go hear especially where it meets the bulk head.
Rear foot wells on seams
strut mounts
Door bottoms
Bootlid under spoiler
Boot floor in spare wheel well
Rear valance below bumper (look for botched repairs with filler)
Gear Box
Look for leaks, grunches into gears or tought gear changes, wining on drive(bearings = rebuild) (sincro mesh = rebuild)
Pulls on boost and nop clutch slip
Engine
Rattles top end smoke on start up and under boost
any knocking on start up from cold and when warm.
Make sure it pulls on boost
Take the car for a long run and check for overheating, then let it stand ticking over for 5 mins to see if it overheats, turbo'd cars should be turned straight off after a run anyway as it damaged the turbo.
Check for leaks before and after the run, some sellers will clean the oil away before a viewing but a run will bring any leaks back so double check.
Als check over the body for odd fitting panels or small bubbles, these may have been polished down to look less than they are but will soon rust back up and will get worse.
Hope some of this help, let me know if you need to know anything else, OH and double check all history and vin numbers and hpi it without fail, i nearly got caught out before and will never again.

As requested, Aint to sure if the pics will come up, Kierons car is not one to be missed thought, so well worth a look at both.
Here is the one off the RSOC website
Escort Series One RS Turbo £2500 ONO

9 Previous owners
FSH
Tax and MOT until November 2005.
Loads of bills, receipts etc.
CAT 2 alarm and immobilizer, with certificate
Interior in VGC no rips, tears or burns (see photos)
Very good bodywork
Brand new battery
Original alloys with very good Avon tyres.
HPI Clear
Modifications
Saph Cosworth front callipers and discs
Koni suspension
Magnex Exhaust
Boost Gauge
Chrome header tank, swirl pot and turbo heat shield
Chipped (Superchip)
Silicone Hoses
Uprated intercooler
Induction kit
Fire extinguisher
Bad Points
Slight oil leak (sump I think)
Marks on paintwork around filler cap due to removal of Dimma filler cap (see photos)
Running quite rough, possibly requires a set up or tune.
No stereo (Would throw in a brand new Sony CD player if it goes for the asking price)
Non-Original parcel shelf
Opening rear windows have been professionally sealed for security reasons (Not my idea!)
Cracked dash (see photos)
Tiny piece of surface rust on roof, only visible piece (see photos)
Non-original towing eye cover
Stone chips on rear arches and sideskirts (see photos)
Slight piece of faking paint on rear spoiler (see photos)
This car starts and drives fine, it just runs quite rough, but it still boosts up and accelerates well.
Many more photos available on request.
Don’t blame me for the side oval repeaters and tape under the bonnet! Previous owner had a bit of a brainstorm it seems!
Looking for £2500 ONO would consider a part ex with a RS1800 plus cash.

Gets some pics up, and best to show all the usual trouble areas, boot floor, inner wings, door bottoms, sills, slam pannel etc etc.
Most importantly a price as many people don't like to make an offer as they think they will either be told to **** off for being cheaky/hopefull and then not be welcome to look at the car or go in to high and find out they could have got it cheaper.
Look foward to see the pics

PM me if you're interested.

sorry i dont have many pics but i will get better pics if you are interested.

here is the spec of the car:
the condition generally is good with VERY VERY slight rust. it needs some minor work to it like the brakes and suspension could do with fitting to the rear (i have put koni adjustables in the front and have just bought the rears) also engine could do with a set up. at 4500 rpm it is stuttering but i am assured that a set up will cure this. the wings need the original rs stickers aswel and there is some paint flake on the front bumper. all in all it has had alot of money spent on it by me and the previous owner. i reckon its worth around 2200 as it is but if all is sorted should be worth well over 3000. i personally have spent over £1500
power is 155 bhp on low boost (8psi) and is 190 on 14psi (in car dual boost setting) the engine should be able to cope with 23+ psi if you can get a better intercooler and turbo and set up that will be at least 230 bhp.
all in all the car needs minor TLC... little things that really bugger me like the front headlights (one goes off sometimes)....the speedo doesnt work for some reason....passenger side window switch is intermittent. its not big problems and if your mechanically minded they can be sorted without much hassle.
Engine Spec:
The engine is in excellent condition with less than 2000 miles since rebuild. It was fully rebuilt with all new gaskets etc. the bottom end was treated with a whole range of performance parts including low comp pistons, competition bearings, performance oil pump etc. The head is a Big Valve Head that has been polished and ported; there is also a piper 285t2 cam. The turbo is in excellent condition and is a normal t3 turbo; i had a hybrid t3 but had it replaced because it started smoking. the exhaust is a 4 inch Scorpion.
Fully Rebuilt Low Compression 1.6 Cvh
Accralite Pistons with .5 overbore
Accralite Piston Rings
Burton Power Main Bearing
Burton Power Big End Bearing
Burton Power High Pressure Oil Pump
Felpro Head Gasket
Bronze Valve Guides
New Fuel Pump
Pipert 285T2 Cam
J & R Air Filter
Scorpion Exhaust
Bailey Twin Piston Dump Valve
Ahmed Bayjoo Unlimited ECU
New Inlet Manifold
New Wiring Loom
New Dizzy
New Dizzy Cap
New Rotor Arm
New Ignition Leads
New Metering Unit
New Alternator
New Starter Motor
New Amal Valve
New Fuel Pump
New Gaskets
New Heavy Duty Battery
New Heater Matrix
New Light Holders
New Steering Column
New Ignition Coil
Exterior:
The car was fully rebuilt couple of years ago. The floor pans were fully restored, oiled and sealed. The car was fully re sprayed in Diamond White including the interior floor. The condition of the bodywork is very good with no visible body rust except a minor patch on the inner wing and front panel. The car also has the towing eye cover.
Interior:
The Interior has a Series 2 Rs Turbo 90 Spec Dash with the onboard computer. All other parts such as steering column, clocks, buttons and switches etc. have been replaced with the dash to Series 2. This is because when i bought the car the s1 dash was not there and someone had started to put the s2 dash in so it was much easier just to leave it. Also a full Sapphire Cosworth Leather Interior has been modified to fit by myself. I have also fitted a mountune sports Steering.
Recaro Cosworth Leather Front Seats
Recaro Cosworth Leather Rear Seats
Series 2 Dash
Series 2 Clocks
Series 2 Centre Console
Mountune Steering Wheel
Nomad Boost Gauge
