Default F.A.O the pro alloy boys

if i sent you my power steering tank what would the turnaround time be for you to alter it to the track day tank version ?

also the turbo cooler how does it attach to the car ie any holes need drilling or does it mount the same as a old fourbie cooler ie to the body and the rad ? and most importantly is there noticable benefits to fitting this ?

and lastly pmsl the lmh007 bracket how does that fasten to the car ?

Hi Matt...
so many questions!
if i sent you my power steering tank what would the turnaround time be for you to alter it to the track day tank version ? we would need it for 2-3 days..

also the turbo cooler how does it attach to the car ie any holes need drilling or does it mount the same as a old fourbie cooler ie to the body and the rad ? just mounts to the top of the rad.
and most importantly is there noticable benefits to fitting this ? probably wont make you go any faster but they do add approx 1/3 area to your cooling system and they do cool the water at the heat source before it heat saturates the rest of the system

and lastly pmsl the lmh007 bracket how does that fasten to the car ?
2 x bolts through the slam panel.

kindest regards
wayne

Matt,

think it would be better to ger an oil cooler instead of a turbo cooler.

this can be mounted in place of the turbo cooler and would be more benificial to the engine cooling.

Dave.

it's a water cooled power steering tank..

has the alloy cooling coil fitted inside.
The water is cooled first by the turbo cooler , plumbed through the power steering tank and then returned to the header tank.

Geezas... how bling....

Is powersteering overheating big issue on Cossies? Never had problem with that even when on slow stages. I know it's huuuuge issue on Scoobies (you could do fortune with such kit for them probably) as powersteering tank and pump are mouned over the engine on the turbo side where it HOT and the fluid likes to boil.

When I'm rich one day I must get the whole package from you guys only for the craftsmanship of that from what I seen. Do you do AC radiator???

Custom inlet for a vauxhall C20XE

Now before you think 'oooooooooooooooh sounds like a big job' its not, honestly.

Basically what i'm doing is cutting the XE's inlet manifold just after where the injectors go in to it near the head. So that means no faffing about with making a flange to fit the head or tubing.

All i need is a box fabricated, like this (sorry for pants drawing)

Heres a real picture of one to get a better idea, but like i said, no messing about with the part that bolts to the head as that is getting welded to the box (with 4 inches of pipe attached)

cheers

Sweet, sounds promising

What i'll do is get the engine out the boot first, i only got it last night see. I'll then have to source an inlet, have a mess around with it with my old friend 'A. Grinder' and check clearances.

If i make a balsawood/cardboard model of exactly how i want it, would you be able to work from that? It will be some good quality model, all measurements how i want them, and it will be able to get dismantled so you can make the plates up and weld them together.

I'm not fussed about how it looks, as long as its functional and has a bit of a shine and clean edges to it

Cheers for your help, was a bit lost for anyone who does this sort of stuff.

P.s The XE inlet is about 5mm thick ali, and the box thickness minimum is 3mm. Cheers
