Anybody fitted a front mounted intercooler rs s2, need help

Your the man so, I fitted a new alloy radiator and I can't get the intercooler to sit right. Did you make up brackets?

 

what type of front mount dude?

 

Not sure. Its a front mount intercooler purchased from radteck. It's bigger than the radiator, which sits in front of the radiator

 

The Radtec one comes with brackets mate.Where are your fan's mounted?On the intercooler or on the radiator?

Whats fans are you using?As the standard fan is too 'fat' to use.Should have came with slimline SPAL fan's(I think)

 

I put the fan on the radiator but I dont think it's slimline. I only have the one fan which I used. Your bang on, there is brackets on the intercooler but the brackets are about 2 inches away from where the bumber bolts go. I gather from what your saying is, that I get slimline fans and then the brackets should be flush with where the bumber is mounted. Thanks for your help Andrew, please let me now when you can if what I am saying is what you mean. Thanks 4 ur help.......

 

I think i know what you mean.There will be 3 brackets,1 at the top and 1 at either side of the cooler.Once the bumper is off and you sit it in place you will see where these line up at the front of the car,we had to drill hole's in the bracket's of my mates to match the hole's on the car.
The standard fan really cant be used unless you position the radiator waaaaay back but thets not recomended as you want the rad and intercooler to be as close as possible for air flow to the rad.Also put's the rad too close to the turbo.A kenlowe or spal fan is what your ideally looking for bud

For example if you were to try and fit the intercooler without putting a fan in between i bet it would line up properly.

 

if you have the thick core rad tec cooler (like mine) you wont be able to have fan in the middle! unless u move rad back an cooler forward and have slim line fan! even then from what i can see its goin to be bloody tight!


im looking into getting it all moved ready for when she gets back on road to keep cooler this summer!
