Whatever happened to nipping out with your mates on a summers evening to climb trees, and ride your bike about, and play curby, or british bulldog?
I used to always have something to do, i built a petrol go kart, stripped the engine down, had it all ready for the hot days.
Now all i see are kids in 'hoodies' hanging around town till midnight looking stupid, cold, and like they got no homes to go to!
What a complete joke... I'm 35 years old I have a wife and two kids, I live in a nice modern middleclass estate...
I own loads of hoodies, does make me threat to british society? No of course not, neither does it make me a Chav... I hate stereotyping, we live in a free country, and should be allowed to wear what we want when we want, if your gonna ban someone from somewhere, ban them because they are being abusive or rude or antisocial, not for wearing a bloody hoody!!!

Its not sterotyping, its how it really is. The statistics speak for themselves, Look on the news at abusive teenagers and kids, always wearing hoodies or some sort of tat. Its what comes with the job of being an antisocial prick.
Having trackies and a hoodie at 35 is slightly differn't to teenagers, you wear them because you want to, not because you have to follow the bad vulgar culture.
I'm not here to offend, just telling it how i see it

What a stupid bloody idea, talk about stereotyping. i wear hooded tops occasionally but i dont go round beating people up and i never ever wear the hood up anyway. But still pisses me of that we get more and more of our freedom taken away just because its easier for the government to ban hoodies instead of sortin out the main problem.

But my point in this thread is about the yob culture...i don't think anyone can deny it, its so evident when you go out (no matter how nice the area). Kids walking down the road with beer in hand, hoodies hiding face, smashing stuff up, tipping bins over, graffiti, abuse, intimidation etc etc
its called fashion !!!!!!
just like all crashes are speed related and all people with fast cars are bad drivers and old people are better drivers ect !!!!
statistics are bollox
remeber the thing about black kids cause the most crime and statstics prooved it was bollox,,,,,,,,,, that was cause theres more white kids in shoold in engerland than black kids !!!!!!!!, the commit the most crime as a percentage !!!!!,,,,,,,,, also white people are not as clever and get caught

Ban young lads in sporty cars? Where do you draw the line? how do you define?
Ok, lets put it another way.
Its not about the hoody itself, your all missing the point...its about what it is associated with...hooligans and rowdy teens.
Even if they were wearing a suit & tearing the place appart, i would associate suits with hooligans...but also buisiness men.

mate ya stick em in a t-shirt there still gonna have the beer and the rest
just they will blend in and not appear a problem anymore as ya cant see em
its the kids thats the problem so why dont they concentrait on that issue
next they will solve the problem by issuing all people with reg plates and fining the guilty ones
Ah i dunno, i know how the gov feel though, they got a massive problem to deal with....i suppose i'm just worried for my retirement years and wondering who the fuck is going to pay my pension
Places have been discriminating who gets in for years, nothing new.. how many nightclubs can you not get in if you got the wrong colour shoes??
it ain't the colour of the shoes that's the problem.. it's people who go to nightclubs

i am all for it in shopping centres, i deal with shoplifters day in day out and they often cant be identified because of caps and hoods. I dont think wearing them should be banned but having the hood up should
Older people can get very intimidated. Kids these days have so little respect - they could do with some fookin discipline and laws. Send em into national service - that'll sort the little buggers out.

I think people are getting the wrong idea.
What they are trying to do is to stop the build up of big groups of youngsters that are intimidating to some people, especially when they have their hoods up with hides their faces, especially from cameras above.
Its not just a ban on hoodies in general!
On a similar note, did anyone see on the news how they plan on dealing with people riding mini motos round the paths/streets/roads?

Ohhh, a debate, I do love a good debate
I suppose it is the intimidation aspect of it, hoods down would be better, i would recognise some of the little feckers for next time.
I think ID cards are a good idea, but not for EVERYONE, under 21's, under 25's, that sort of thing, leave the older people (who are generally well behaved) without ID cards, otherwise the gov will alienate the whole country, which won't be good.
Or another well talked about (down the pub) system, make the parents pay the fines for their unruley kids, i tell you what, if my dad ever had to pay a penny towards any damage i done (which he never had to) he would kick seven shades of shit out of me to get his monies worth

Didnt they say they was banning them when they was in grp etc?
IMO atleast they are trying to do somthing. I mean they are freaks of nature for walking around with hods up etc in the middle of a sunny day.
rhys there not doing anything, the hoods dont make em do bad things !!!!
next ya gonna make em wear sock and pants of they stick a hoody on like in school if ya forgot ya PE kit
the problem is the fooking kids !!!!, ya take a hoody off they blend in with everyone , that to me is more of a problem as then ya dont know who to leg it from
why not deal with the problem and not there fashion taste
who ever used a night club as a example thats a class point
how many people here been bottled or bottled someone in a club with there shoes on
sorry but ive had a few growls in clubs and when i was wearing trainers like in bagleys must felt comfortable rather than dressed like a muppet in shoes with blisters on the walk home to the kebab shop after having a fight anyway
