Default Insurance Claims Question...

...Is there a certain amount of time after an accident within which you have to make a claim or it becomes invalid?

A friend of mine hit a woman a few months back (entirely his own fault!) and she still hasn't claimed against his insurance...he's heard she only has 6 months or she loses the right to claim, anyone know if this is true?

Cheers

I think she was...it was her who wanted to go through the insurance in the first place. Now a few months have gone by and heard nothing so he's thinking his no claims might remain untouched

Any other ideas?

surely its your mates responsibility to claim, and it wouldn't have mattered if the woman was not insured would it?
