hey all, how do u know when a rs gearbox is on its way out? would it make any weird noises ? when changing gears?

and also, hav a problem, when i put my foot down, my car holds back

can any1 help ?

they wine aswell!, if its on gearchange could also be your clutch,pressure plate, when i got mine, thought the gearbox had gone, crunched, and wouldnt go in gear, changed the clutch it was fine

if your car holds back, proberly needs a setup, could be the timing,or fueling, or an air leak somewhere

 

my gearbox rattles like mad and feels loose, just had a Gerarbox built for me using
an IB5 box, uprated pinion shaft and bearings

 

Hello mate i had a similar problem when i put my foot down, it turned out the top boost hose(the one that the thermostat pipe runs under) had softened due to heat from thermostat pipe and every time it boosted the hose collasped and caused lag, might not be that but worth a look.
