As above i'm just in the middle of gathering all the cosworth bits i need to go to cosworth managment and i've hit a problem????
I've seen some people with pectel boards in there cosworth ecu's to help with active spark control ( what ever that means?)

But on the other hand i've also seen people run cars on std ecus too ( not very well though)

my question is what does the pectel board do and is it worth getting an ecu with it already fitted, i've made some enquires and the best answer i got was that the std ecu will not run the dark green injectors that i will need, but on the other hand i've also been told that a re-mapped chip mounted directly on to the main board will also run the dark greens without the use of the pectel board

so before my brain bursts out of me skull will someone please put this to rest for me please.............................????

 

You dont "Need" a pectel board to do anything at all, period.

Pectel hardware simply allows tuners to map using Pectels mapping software. If that is all they can use then they must fit the hardware for the chip to run.

With the L8 i expect you are using we can do closed loop lambda control, air injectors, coilpack ignition, any injector up to 1000cc.. anything you like, and we wont use a Pectel board.
