I always take my S1 to Nobles, been going there for last 4 years.

Mine's doin 194 bhp @ 12.5 psi and 169 @ 9psi using a Kent CVH 34 cam which are not the best for bhp.

I went for a walk round Chesterfield whilst they did the work, crooked spire and all that LOL.
My spec is 0.5 overbore, big valve head, 285t2 cam with vernier, charge cooler, stage 3 turbo, 16psi boost.
Its a right blast to drive now.

Hi Paul, yes a little more development over the winter with the help of Ahmed Bayjoo.

Apparently the standard T3 was holding the airflow back across the reworked head. Ahmed's fitted a 048 exhaust housing to my turbo and it made 5 bhp more staright away. More importantly though it's smoothed out the power and torque curves. Darren at Noble's is very impressed.

I've since consulted with Ahmed again and he's telling me to increase the boost to 15 psi and it will jump up over the 200 bhp mark.

I'm just in the process of installing an ATC gauge to look at temps under load and then I'll increase the boost.

I'll be looking at Pro-Alloy instalations over the summer and talking to folk about things like engine temps etc. If it looks good I may well go the Pro-Alloy route over the winter. That'll be it then as I guess.
The S1 clutch is likely to fall over at that sort of torque/power level I suspect.

One thing's for sure it certainly does shift now, good old power to weight, get's em every time !

Colin.

Sounds the business that Colin, i am using a chargecooler at the moment but also considering a full frontal intercooler in the future.
Any evening trackdays booked as yet? Looking to have a go myself now its been set up.

Paul

I'm still using that Forge Motorsport IC but I don't think it gives much improvement over standard as it's the same size as the original and sits in the same positon.

I'm thinking of doing one in Sept if posible at Donington (Bookatrack I think). My mates running a Mini Cooper S Works at the moment and he's had it upgraded at John Coopers to 220 bhp so given the power to weight difference it should be fun to go out together.

Are you going to any shows ? would be good to meet up if you are. I'm expecting to go to the following -

Stanford Hall 15/5
Croft 5/6
National Day

Mobile's 07881676560, give me a call if you get to any of these.

Alright Colin

Always try and get to Stanford Hall such a nice place for a car show and picnic with the family, so will come over and say hello. It sounds like your mate needed that bit extra power so as not to be embarrassed by your RS.
It would be interesting to see how the cars compare in the drivability stakes with them having similar power but different ways of getting it.

Rick just waiting to rig up the charge temp gauge. Ahmed recons I should be able to run 15 psi through the IC and crack 200 bhp but I want to be able to look at the temps. That'll be it then for the little S1, well that's the current thinking !
