Snow board kit advice....
now that the snow season is over will there be any top deals kicking about?
im after board boards and binds,
what board should i look at? how do you know the size you want?
what binds should i be looking at? step ins or the other type?
i have seen some really cheap deals from the us, worth giving them a go if they will ship?
thanks

personal preference mate...
depends what youve learnt with.. personally i prefer switch (step in bindings) but the boots can be heavy so it depends how much your planning on walking
the newer switch boots/binding however are MINT they are a lot lighter than the older style and much more secure (doesnt put as much pressure on the bottom of your legs as there is more support in the binding.
As for the size of the board again its personal preference really howevever as a general guide most people have a board which when stood up comes between their chin and nose (ooo er
)
the best deals are undoubtedly from america and if you go for a burton board you wont go far wrong to be honest.

good site that is saved it my favorites, only thing i will say is make sure you go somewhere first and try the boots on before you order them on t'internet. some boots look good but my god are they uncomfortable after a while!
IMO go for strap in's- they feel sooo much more responsive IMO!
asfor a board, it really depends on how you ride, and what you ride-
there is no point getting a pro twin tip park board if you intend on going to canada and riding off piste the whole time!
tell us what sort of riding you do, and what you want to do, how confident you are on a board (ie i've got a stiff as fook pro deck, but if your only just starting out, you may not get on with it- excuss my ignorance, but i think you've been a couple of times from previous posts???)
Also, set yourself a budget - do you want to spend a grand, or a touch less lol!
Oh, and one thi9ng about burtons- they are fine if you are ONLY riding snow, but if you ever go on dendex, it WILL die very very quickly!

last time i went boarding i hired a pair of burton boots with 'normal' strap in bindings.. they were fine for the first 2 days but on the 3rd day i honestly couldnt walk more than about 50ft with them on.. they fucking killed accross the front of my foot (where the bottom of your leg meets your foot) i wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy.. i battled it out though
when i got back i had a BIG bruise where the boot had been cutting into me.. i had to rest on the 4th day because of it. and even with 2 pairs of socks on it still hurt.
All im saying is choose carefully which boots you get as IMO they are the most important thing.

lol-dendex is the stuff that prob 80%of the uk dryslopes are madeof-like big triangluar tooth brushes! -bloody hurts when you fall too
(snowflex is the other stuff, which is like big matresses in comparison!)
if you've been once, then you should be able to board,so a reasonably forgiving intermediate board would be fine............. anything too stiff, and you may not enjoy it too much, as they have to be worked a bit more to get the best from them!
asfor boots hurting, remeber that your binding setting will drastically effect your confort levels (in my expireience anyways........)if you have the high-back (the bit that goes up your calf, and can be adjusted) right forward, then it will make your legs burn- if you have it right back, you normally have to work the board slightly harder, but its much more comfy...............
Ohg, and id you can afford it, defo get a set of boots with liners- IMO they are much mroe confy that those without!

Gareth if your buying over the net ensure the boots you buy(assuming traditional set up) definatly fit the bindings you plan on using........a lot of bindings are 2 narrow accross the base for some boots.
Board size ive owned/riden various sizes over the years ranging from 151 - 172 you cant go wrong with around the 160mark.
