what can i do to stop the new alternator squeaking. squeaks like fook. a bit embarassing. any ideas?

 

tighten the belt up perhaps?

 

take it back

 

slackened the belt off a bit. thought it might be to tight. not helped though.
might just have to take it back!!!!!!!!

thats a good point actually. right i'm away to take it off!!!!

 

problem solved. when i went under car you could quite clearly see that the alternator was running out of line. took pulley off and put a spacer in to line it up. job done. no squeaks. back to being silent......
