Hi everyone, im looking for a little help...



we have built the XR2 Turbo now, but still waiting on the fuel accumilator that fits before the fuel filter..


The problem we have is that the car will NOT start on the key..

it cranks over lovely but just will not fire, we have fuel and spark.

if we push it or tow it for a few yards it fires up lovely and runs like a dream, but obviously we cant be pushing it everywhere


just wondering if anyones had these symptoms before and if there is something we need to do as its totally stumped us


Everything appears to be connected where it should be (otherwise it wouldnt run at all!)

does it have sufficiant compression?

 

Sounds like possibly Lifters are jacked up and holding the valves open. When it runs, how does it sound? Does it sound a little clattery?

 

sounds perfect when it runs m8, thats why i think its a little strange

 

not checked compression yet Sean, its on the cards for tomorrow

its turning over m8 have had the starter out and checked it too

 

is it possible youve wired it up wrong so that when cranking you havent actually got the ignition on?

will get the multimeter out tomorrow too

 

Mfi or Efi m8
If mfi have a look @ the metering unit try opening the flap a little whilsted turning it over
May not be that but worth a tri And its easyer to do then find a fault in the electrics
