Im sold on his gbox
Looked at the standard job against his big tooth and there is no
comparison
Even the Tremec tko6 is tiny in comparison
He had a busted tko 6 there
Does any one know how gearboxs are rated for torque
I do now
Im ordering my Bernie box on tuesday
Was going to by one sat but non on the shelf
I will at last be able to run full boost all the time

At a guess I would say warm box, applied with 'instant' torque, i.e. like dropping the clutch at peak torque? Then repeated 10 times and if it doesn't break its rated at that torque

Yes Rods does seem to be doing fine but i dont think he uses his with the vigor im going to be with mine im going to be doing a LOT of drag racing and track days
I also use mine Every day for work and going shopping as i do love driving it as the engine ( thanks to Karl ) is just a dream to use
Looking at the tremec im sure it will last a good while
But the gear kit in bernies swung me its a monster compared to the Tremec
I thing Ranj and Sunny are using his services also
I also wanted to be able to bolt the gbox straight in without no messing with bellhousings etc etc
Also the Tremec gear change is a tad Tractor like

don't wanna p**s on your fire, but ain't dingy got one of these boxes ,and

he was running crap times at the pod the other week,

"because the box has to be warmed up 1st,or it won't shift"

or some thing like that!

Does sound good though, whats the cost of a gearset alone?

Tony Ryan,

you can get a dog engagement version from:

www.gforcetransmissions.com

not only do they make a dog engagement they also have a straight cut version! (as well as helical cut)

They also make a call thick wall casing which looks nuts.

Reason why I didn't buy was because of the 5th gear ratio which is a choice of 0.73 or the optional 0.90 (which would be great for the racetrack)

As far as I know to fit the Cosworth it needs a new clutch plate (spline count is different) and bearing.

These gearkits are proven on 9 second 1/4 mile Mustangs fitted with slicks.

Oh, and I purchased Bernie's box in the end due to the 5th gear ratio but am well pleased

Good luck mate!
