Would ya buy a 3dr cossie with a 4x4 engine fitted that has 98k on it and no idea if it's had any engine work / rebuilds done to it ??

 

Depends on the overall condition of car and the price m8

 

The condition im told is very good, has rs500 bits on it, im told (not seen it yet)

The price is my M3

 

no different to buyin anythin else, check it ckeck it and check it again

 

tough call, you could buy a car with a new engine and it could still go bang

suppose i would depending on condition of the car in general!!!

 

thing is

this car could be mint, but the engine was just taken from another car, so the condition of the car has no bearing on how well the engine, gearbox etc has been looked after.

I guess what Im asking is...

Can a cossie engine still be fine after 98000 miles with no rebuilds etc ???

All the cossie's i've had in the past have been rebuilt before I bought them.

 

mines on 102k with no rebuilds, gets 60 miles of abuse a day and loves it

change the oil in it every 3k aswell to keep her sweet and upto the beasting of 400 miles a week on average

providing the car is satisfactory then yes. That in itself wouldn't put me off

 

My cossie has 130k on it and running 300+ BHP, been ok so far !

98000 miles it must of had some sort of engine work by now.How the the guy know it has not had a rebuild had it from new???

sounds good mate just check carefully like said above a cossy lump can blow up anytime it part of owning one

 

no he said he has no idea if it has had any work done, as he took it out of another car that had no history

SO I just assume it had nothing done.

 

So the general opinion is to go and have a look then ???

Well I went up there (after making sure the car was still there) and when I got there, he sold it to someone else that had just turned up

Thing that really pissed me off, was the fact he knew someone was coming to buy it as they were from fuckin portsmouth

Well I have found another 1 now

but it's been resprayed a non standard colour

i wanted to look at the auralis blue escos with the big turbo engine,
the fella at sall said he wasn't waiting around that afternoon, but if he was coming down the M40 the next day (Sunday) & if i called him at 7.30 he would come in the escos,, so there's me on the only day i get a layin ringing him at 7.30 in the morning, the dude didn't answer the phone, after waiting near the phone 10 o'clock he still hadn't called back, so i thought fu*k him, ruined my plans for the day, he can stick his car up his arse. & i belive its still for sale, so it couldn't have been that good.
i hate messers & time wasters.
