Unless its recently had it done....

Expect an engine rebuild within a year and save at least Ł2000 to do it. !!!

Sorry to sound negative, as much as I love cossies they are money pits !!!

Dude, check the front inner wings for ripples and as someone else said check the rear wheel sit the same distance from the arches each side as the rear beams bend easily. A lot of old saphs suffer from rotten chassis rails – check where the rear beam bolts up etc.

I’ve seen a few dogs in my time...

Not wishing to put you off and they are so much fun but finding out you have a bent or rotten car can wipe the smile off of your face! Totally agree with the north yorks rs guy, ask plenty of questions - good luck

Hope you understand the theory of opposite lock when things get a bit tense cause they dont like staying straight in the wet, they are fooking lethal but at the same time unless you go on to own a Koeniggsegg or a McClaren F1 then you probably wont ever have a better driving experience in your life cause they are just amazing ....so with that in mind ENJOY!!!

Very true about atleast 2k for engine build, and that's if you do it yourself!

Also agree with what Paul said

[quote="john"]Who in doncaster m8 and what car ?

It was a crystal blue one funny enough, its been at the back of fast ford for a while, the guy really doesnt no what he`s talking about and thats the only reason i didnt go mental at him, it needs the bonnet painted as well as the front and rear bumpers, it doesnt have any jacking covers, the spoiler on the boot lid has rust around it and coming of, theres a blister just below the rear cluster which is pretty bad, the drivers seat has a tear in it, it has no road tax, and there was a serius leak not long ago,as there was oil all over the floor, it also had standard breaks and suspension, he said he would take Ł200 of for the tax, i said more like 2k, he really thought it was worth Ł5300 at that time waister

I wouldn't go back, but spend as much as you can afford, watch rear chassis legs for rust, check chassis number's and try to have a spare grand in the back all the time cause she will go wrong a LOT

PS It will be the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

If your planning on modding it dont buy a standard one,it will be cheaper in the long run.I paid 4000 for mine 3 years ago and have probably spent three times that on mods

there not cheap and theres always somthing else you wanna do to it

im telling thee now its never ending but well worth it
