Default Series One Escort..

Morning,

Ive recently been looking into getting a series one escort turbo, have heard the engines arent anything too special though and can be tempremental.

Basically im not looking to tune it etc, and i was wondering if anyone could give me any advice as to looking for things that prove its originality and or general faults to be aware of.

It will be a daily runner, from experiance how do people fare with them?

Cheers in advance for any replies.

Rob

a standard engine with service history should do you ok, if it does break then

I wouldnt call an S1 a daily runner unless you have driven 20 year old cars only, newer cars are a lot easier from day to day save the S1 for the sunny weekends

Totally agree. S1's great on a nice Sunday/Bank Holiday Monday.

No power steering, no mod cons.

Stick to something new and reliable for the main car and keep the S1 as a toy!
