Default 88spec to 90spec spoiler question

At the moment I have an 88spec rear spoiler but am looking to put a 90spec on there soon.

Does anyone know if you have to re-drill the boot or do the holes still line up??

I reckon its a re-drill job but im hoping it aint lol

i thought the holes would have been in the same place, maybe i will have to look again, my 88 spec spoiler seems to have holes in the same position, but i havent put it next to a car with a 90 spec

yeah 90 spec holes nearer the front of spoiler are higher

best of drilling a hole, rust proofing and then fitting a clinchnut to bolt onto like ford did, wouldnt fancy a self tapper in there under the 'water trap' of a spoiler

mind you thats if you get past taking the old rusted and headless screws out the 88 spec spoiler lol

well after u drill the holes i'd just put a bit of paint on the bare metal, and try 2 get the swarf hoovered out too

maybe worth a bit of that rust eather stuff, worked well on my mums 2i filler cap for a few years

a clinchnut (prob not the right name) is a brass thread thats knerled round the outside so it holds into the metal (forced in a bit too so its tight) and provides the thread to screw into

like how frst opening rears are fitted

ford use stainless (i'd hope) clinch nuts when fitting the spoilers as std so its nowt specialist, just a good way of getting a nice thread into a thin panel., could just nut n bolt in and hope for the best

dunno mate, maybe, i think you need to have then pressed in a bit like a rivet, i have a mate do em for me when its needed cos hes got all that sort of stuff at work

maybe screwfix or sumwhere do a kti to fit em

maybe even have them on microcat, they have all the other lil fixings, if not then they will list a complete 90 spec bootlid i guess

ill have a word with ma mate about wheres best to score some
