Oh yes ppl i just got myself a 400cc honda babyblade engine to put in my gokart.
My friend has a 900cc honda fireblade gokart but he is off his head
here is a few pics of it now i will but some more up in a few weeks when its done

here is the engine

I cant wait till its done so i can get it to santa pod :P
:P
sorry about the bad quality of the pics but i used my nokia 6230 to take them
here it is now cut in half ready to be made longer for the engine to go in

we have made it longer now and the welding is nearly done just got to make the brackets for the engine now and put a big plate under it to make it a bit stronger B)

its now 7 and a half foot long and even closer to bein finished
i will take some more pics and post them up when i have done more to it

mate, you have a serious geometry problem there, do you understand the principles of a kart chassis???????
it works via stub to king pin inclination vs castor.......the principle is simple you turn the wheel left and the left front wheel becomes lower in the chassis causing a weight shift to the front right wheel, this lifts the left hand rear thus enabling the the thing to turn round the corner (no diff, solid rear axle) if you do not lift the inside rear when turning it will go straight on.
looking at the length of the chassis you have 2 choices, you are going to have to stiffen massivly your 3 rails probably needing to add another 2 at least, and increasing the castor dramatically...........or........fit a diff unit
this is the reason prokarts and gearbox karts are 4rail+ and use really thick tubing you simply cant pick the rear inner up with a lot of weight on it on an old 100 chassis

we used 28mil thick steel rod to make it longer m8 and we are using some hefty steel plate to go under it to brace it

Check out this lunatic
theres some videos on the site, but they are big.
this nutter puts lights on his bike engined go-kart, then goes out racing cars at night on dual carriageways

still think you should have used an old g/box kart(it has vented discs allround for a start), thats what we did and fitted cbr600 lump on it next to the drivers seat, we just shifted the the seat over to compensate for the weight !
still not as fast as a 250E kart though
still not as fast as a 250E kart though
5spd or 6spd??????your bro's 250
re:your lack of bends................ i was clocked at 168mph(on the public highway
) in it........and round silverstone i hit 142mph.........i had four cross drilled vented discs with carbon race pads in em four pots on the front...singles on the back..............by lap four they used to start fading.and you had to lay off the brakes...............you are going to do possibly 170 mph.....with what looks like a sngle non vented disc rated for a maximum speed of about70mph.....held onto what looks like a 30mm axle with a 6mm key onto an alloy hsg
i think you will lose the brakes at just over the ton.........have you thought this through
do you know what a kart with 6 inch rims, no suspension and a 1950's designed steering colomn feels like at 150mph
the vibration is so bad you cannot see your feet 4ft in front of you and as your ass is 2 inch's from the floor the sense of speed is fookin unbelievable , it feels like the world has been put on fast forward
your seat is wrong too, you will need a long circuit seat as you will not be able to hold your head up at that speed (m/cyclists tuck in behind fairings at 120+ and sit leaning forward)

when i hit the 16k rev limit in 6th and looked next to me this bloke was there on his bike hanging on for dear life..........the fookin noise coming from his bike was amazing..............................i couldn't go any faster and neither could he
typical biker though, when i loaded the kart back into the van he was telling his mate how he was flat out at just over 170mph right next to me, by the time we got back to the pub the next night he had pulled 195mph
my data logger showed a top speed of 160.9mph
i showed him my laptop, then explained how i had stayed with him on a 250
Pugo
it was the biggest adrenalyn rush i have ever had
www.ukkarting.co.uk or ebay........you want an old g/box kart if your converting, if you just want some fun by a 250 g/box 250n is 5speed 250e is 6speed and goes like fook
