Default Series 1 RS Turbo Rebuild

So, my builder mate (we'll call him Bob ) wants me to give him a hand rebuilding his '86 RS Turbo. First couple of quick questions I have are re: parts diagrams and workshop manuals.

I've done a few bikes in my past and can usually find online resources for part No's etc but it seems to be a totally different kettle of fish to get this info for older cars,so can anyone here point me in the right direction ? Also being an old git like I am, in my youth Haynes manuals were the go-to for repair info but they seem to get a bad press these days and seeing as I would normally try to get a genuine manufacturer workshop manual anyway for a bike, is summat like this available for the RS Turbo ?

I'm certain there'll be a lot more Q's during this rebuild but these first two will go a long way to helping us get into the meat of this project.

Will post some pics next time I'm at his garage.

TIA.

Sorry for late reply @jonfoc been a bit busy with house stuff and keep forgetting I've posted here Thanks for that, nice to know who the guru's are

I've found a couple of places online that seem to have the parts fiche's and also a spot that can supply the side/tail graphics for about £60 that my mate is happy to go with. Bit of a shock for the bonnet stay rod at £45 ! And I'm used to Jap bike spares prices - lol. At least with this project, you expect to have to pay a bit of a premium coz the car's 40 years old. Thankfully I ain't having to shell out the £.

Not in at work today so gonna have a good browse for a few more of the parts he is missing. Thankfully, a lot of them are more the basic MKIII Escort bits and not specific to the RST so they don't seem to be too difficult to find. One thing I will ask (because I remember seeing summat about it on another forum in passing) is about the wheel centre caps. Did the RST have the "RS" logo on them, or where they just blank, solid colour caps ?

Cheers.

Hi again guys. So, I've managed to find some bits online (Bonnet Stay, grommet and clip from ebay and a graphics kit from DMB Graphics) but I really am struggling to know where to look for anything else . I've registered on series 1 turbo but I still haven't got the necessary permissions granted yet to post ! I've found a German site (motomobil) but I dunno if that will really be any good now we're out of Europe with Brexit. I'm clutching at straws really with a shoutout to @Luca & @AJC to see if they can point me in the right direction to source any bits.

With it being an '85/'86 car, is it a case of extended searching for 2nd hand/pattern parts, or are there any specialists out there (that I can't seem to find - lol) that can supply new bits ? As I say, my mate isn't looking for concourse condition, just a nice, clean, honest motor.

If it helps, here's a list of the bits I've been tasked to look for:-

Rear Bumper Brackets (including the side "clips" for the end-caps.
Rear spoiler screw fixing caps.
Wiper Arms & Blades (front and rear)
N/S Door Mirror Rubber pad
Fr & R Washer Jets
Wheel Centre Caps
Headlining.

Any help gratefully received 👍
