Angry my rst series 2 zvh 2.1 conversion should i just carry on

owned my rst series two now for a few months, after one month the bottom end started knocking lol,so i decided to go zvh, went to see jacko and carl at blue oval garages,we decided to go 2.1 zvh over the last few months i have been buying parts, first was a 2.0 mondeo engine, then a sump and pick up pipe, then got a efi head of a xr3i from a scrappy, after that i bought some wossner pistons, newman cam with solid lifters and double valve springs,

Fantastic looking engine build.
What valves did you use when the cylinder head was assembled.
Were they oem valves or stainless steel?

Cheers

Is there a particular reason you went for the cvh head as apposed to the zetec head or other zetec type heads (forget the neame now but I think a black top head is good for 300+ without porting??)

Genuinely interested in your reasoning for the cvh head as IIRC the comeabout of the zvh was because people already had the bits from a cvh inc management etc... so on a build like this with cossie management why didnt you use a 16v head?

Cheers
Dan

quite simply we are trying to find the limit of an 8v head and the cost of cams dubble valve springs pulleys, solid lifters is all dubbled as there is twice as many

in my own car ill be using a 16v head and porting it to its limmit got to try new things tust to see what happens

Over 400 bhp and 400lbft of torque from a user on here with a head from pumaracing

Will you be 'finding the limit' of the 8v head?

we had the exact same block with a lesser spec head on yellows with 6psi and a t34 do 180+bhp and 200flbs of talk without being mapped and at 5k

I look forward to seeing what results you end up with.
I love the idea of a high power at low boost build.
High power at low boost levels indicates an efficient intake/cylinder head.
Do you have any flow test results from the cylinder head?
The head looks as if it has had some reshaping already done.

I am assembling a cylinder head here in Canada (for a turbo Escort 1.9), and am having some port work done (flow bench testing on a Superflow 600). I have reached stock Zetec
head flow numbers without too much effort.

Cheers

Talking zvh 2.1

well after along time of collecting bits and bobs,i seem to have most of it now ,inow got my t34 but it is a hybrid, its supposed to have a 360 degree bearing in it but will just have to see,got my blue samco hoses, group a air filter, vibro technics engine mounts, oil cooler, new intercooler, greens, breather but this has a dent in will change later, front and back strut braces, cts stage 2 gearbox, uprated clutch and bearing, cossie management, its just having the wheels shot blasted then painted silver then back on the car, then its going for a full front end resto should be the dogs bollocks when finished, new wings engine bay sprayed, roll on the summer,
