Default Cloned Number Plates

What's the best thing to do if someone has cloned your plates? I've just received a letter through the post for a £100 car park fine from a Blackpool Hotel which is over 4 hours from where i stay and have never been, as I was selling the car i listed it on gumtree which is where they got the reg i'm guessing

The photo's were taken at night and while it is my reg my plate is clearly different in design, border/badge etc

At 1st I thought it was a scam but they must have contacted the dvla to get my name and address

its a waste of time but your bst off ringing police and getting crime number.. Then at least there will put it on anpr in that area... id then just ring who ever sent fine and tell them you may get many more letters tho and threats of court action and stuff but just let them as if its logged with police etc what more can you do

Well I've contacted police Scotland (where I am) and the lancashire force where this incident took place

Still to contact dvla as I can't see where this falls into their very limited options 🙄
