1997 Mondeo 1.8tdci
I'm sat at the side of the road waiting for the RAC so thought I would annoy you lovely people with my problem.
I only have this car to get me to work and for 3 years there has been no issues. It runs like a dream. Last weekend it developed a whooshing noise when you pull away and the revs climb so it went into the garage. Boost hose is split so that got replaced and I picked it up tonight. Didn't make it home. pulling away from a junction, revs climb towards the turbo range and there is a loud bang from the front of the car. No power and the engine is rough. Tried to call the garage but they have closed.

My immediate assumption as that the hose has failed/come off but my worry is that losing the hose whilst under pressure may have damaged the turbo/engine?

Any advice gratefully received. It's not like I have anything else to do....
