Looking to buy a Sierra Cosworth but after paying for a history check, I'm a little confused and wondered if anyone can shed light on it please.
Car is black and no physical evidence of a colour change.
Car check comes back as Black all good.
Car was registered new on 22 March 1990.
But history check says it had a colour change on the date it was first registered!
Any explanation please?

 

It is a strange one. Maybe the person who bought it new from a Ford Dealer got them to repaint it black which would have added a lot to the new price and seems unlikely,or is it just a clerical error by DVLA and it was black from the factory. What does the current owner say about it? If the car seems good and you like it in black I would go ahead and buy it and not worry about it. It must be a 2wd Saff with the date of registration.
