Default Fiesta ST turbo engine into MK5 Escort

Has anyone knowledge how this would work? There seemingly are many ways to get a turbo'ed engine into 90's Escort. But has anyone done "straight" swap and put in an engine that has turbo and was designed to have it already from the factory. I know those Fiesta engines are far more expensive that 1.8/2.0 Silvertops and Blacktops. But those need a lot of parts to be ready.

will cost alot of money and hassle tbh... at least a silver top or black top goes in and box shafts hubs the lot all work... are you doing all the work yourself

The only engine with a mostly direct fit is a Focus RS unit. The (earlier silver top) Zetec was sold in the MK5 Escort and also was the MTX gearbox. Still the wiring for an Euro 3 engine with immobiliser etc. is no noob job and can be a pain in the arse to do.

Dropping in the Fiesta ST ecoboost engine physically probably is not the big deal. But compared with the electronics of the ecoboost unit doing the Focus RS conversion is a piece of cake.

Well, this was more like a question of general interest. I have read many project stories when Silvertop or Blacktop is fitted with turbo. And this question has raised to my mind often, why not a modern compact engine with all the stuff already there. Kind of a shortcut instead of getting 1.8/2.0 and then source a tons of parts. But thanks for explanation. Focus RS power plant in my Escort, expensive but
