I have just been reading about the new high performance Hyundai Ioniq 5ev and is it just me but it seems that they realise most petrolheads don't yet associate EV's with excitement. It has an inbuilt soundtrack of a turbocharged 4 cylinder plus actions of clutch gear changes. Why don't they make the car with a more environmentally friendly petrol engine and keep everyone happy!!

 

Once the generations that grew up listening to real engines die out, it'll just be the norm. I appreciate the performance (mainly torque!) of some EVs, but like fook do I want to sit listening to a soundtrack of fake noise. That will never beat having the windows down and hearing proper levels of noise coming from a combustion engine.

 

like them new mrst transits with exhaust to play a v8 lol... If you want a v8 noise you buy one not a diesel van.... But aye the bigger impact of buildn the ev cars etc people dont get like most things tho people just watch telly and listen to the shit... its like were do you get it puts out zero ? you plug it into the mains and some power station somewere it burning aload of bio mass to make that power...

 

Don't mention about them getting made abroad then getting shipped to other countries on a big boat using diesel fuel. Then the electric vehicles get pocked up from the ports,put onto car transporters which are pulled by a diesel powered truck. Ha ha ha...
