I take that its a reproduktion tank and not an OE tank ...?

The thing is that Ive been offered brand new XR4i tank for a very good price, but I need to have it send .. so I need to find out if the level sender form my old tank will fit ...

Yes I have a 88/89' 2wd Cosworth .. and Ive just done a 3 year "refurb" and all was ready to go ...but I found that the stud where the return fuel come did a hair fine spray .. direct over at the FP cradle ... so at the moment its ok as Ive "sealed it with som chemical stuff for that kind of leaks" but a new tank is needed ASAP ..

As it is Ive been offered a new tank .. but its as I wrote for Mk 1 XR4i to a good price .. and looks similar ...only the level sender hole makes me hesitate to buy it ... so if anyone knows if its the same size hole for the sender ....

That's a totally different scenario.

Now you're asking is a 3 door the same as a 4 door Sapphire ?

I really doubt they will be the same ?

Have you got good photos of both ?

Is your existing tank completely rotten, or can it not be repaired ?

Well my start quetion is the same .. would I be able to use a Mk1 XR4i fuel tank on my 88/89 Cosworth... ,..,only thing Im in doubt about is the hole for the level sensor ... all other looks the sam.

No my old tank is ok ,,except for the return hose stud and the vent hose stud who both have some small holes...

If you think it is the same shape, but different hole....get the level sensor to suit it too ?

That way you're covered. It probably uses the same resistance range anyway, and even if it is different, it there are adapters to make it work

if you really needed to use to use a different tank cut out the top of the saff tank around where the sender goes in. do the same on the different tank but slightly smaller then brase or silver solder it together with lthe over lap joint. thats if you can clean the saff tank as they get very rusty in that erea
