Hi all, does anybody know what size the screws/bolts are that fix the sliding gear to the sunroof metal frame on the underside through the 6 holes (3 each side). I’ve got a replacement glass/frame in great condition as my original has rusted in the front corners. I can’t remove the rear screws/bolts to get the dimensions and would rather wait for the auto glass chap to remove/refit (front screws/bolts look like blobs of rust!). Will be buying stainless versions but just need to know what size??? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks very much in advance
There are brass inserts moulded into the plastic frame you need to be careful with if the bolts are rusted, the plastic frame is brittle with age and won't stand up to much abuse getting the bolts out.
Cheers Mark, much appreciated! Yeah, they all seem seized/stiff so have coated them in WD40 ready for sunroof repair chap to tackle the job next week. All the best
Sadly plastic slider on one side was badly cracked around forward mounted bolts (which couldn’t be removed), however I managed to source replacement sliders with another sunroof panel in great condition (so a replacement for the future, should I need it) In the end I needed M5 bolts which were 10mm long, but super happy with finished article 👍
