Default Water temp sensor.

Hi guys.

I would like help with the sensor in the photo.
I know it's a water(coolant) temperature sensor, but I don't know what its function is. Since there is another coolant temperature sensor (yellow) for the KE jetronic control unit. Not all RS turbos have this sensor.

Thanks in avance.

I don’t think it’s a temperature sensor as in an analog output. Maybe a switch when a certain temperature is achieved?.
It’s definitely not the cooling fan as that is on the thermostat housing.
