Hi all.
I need an agreed valuation caried out on my Escort Cosworth.
Has anybody used an independant person who's valuation will be recognised by Insurance companies.
I am based In Essex

you need someone with the iaea qualifications, some decent insurers will have the contact details for these folk as will a registrar for the rsoc no doubt, I have a friend that does it but only for business accounts
If you know what you want to insure it for, find an insurance company that will do that for you.
They will verify condition with photos of the car and agree the value is acceptable.
I have done this with heritage insurance.

You should be able to get a valuation done by a recognised Cosworth specialst garage. Not sure in your area who you go to to get work done on the car but they should be able to help, plus submit lots of photo's and you will be able to get an agreed value that is realistic. As cars like your Escort Cosworth and my 2wd Sapphire get older and parts are getting harder to find ,accident damage if the worst was to happen is getting more and more expensive and if it was stolen and not recovered it is an even worse situation. For instance if your car is rust free and in top condition trying to find one as good could be really difficult. Bear all this in mind when you come up with the valuation.
I got an agreed valuation through Adrian Flux by showing them plenty of documentation and pictures.
Was a bit of a PITA but didn't need to get an "expert" in to value the car...
