Default Advice on car been kept in shipping containers 10+ years!

Hi All

if you carnt do the work yourself and it needs fully doing your lookn at 1000s to do it right.. even if its mint but needs paint your talkn Ł5000 plus for a paint job worth haven and full underside by time u have parts powder coated poly bushed new discs pads etc etc you can chuck another 5 or 6k into that.. thats what i find people dont relise on ebay you see tatty sapphires for 18 and 19k biggest problem is finding nice parts and stuff isnt easy to find now for old fords..

The condition will be down to the container it has been stored in. My daughters partner has a container which he keeps his motorbikes in but he has lined it inside and it is perfectly dry. If the guy has done something similar it will make a massive difference to its condition now. If not and its just a standard steel container it may have suffered badly due to constant condensation and damp. You need to go and have a good look at it and as Lee said if it needs a total refurbishment be prepared to spend a lot of time and money.to get it back to a good standard. If you can do most of the work yourself you will save shitloads but if you get everything done by a Cosworth specialist I reckon you could be looking at Ł35 to Ł40k!!!!

No point guessing or making assumptions.

Could be not too bad, or could be a mess. Only way is to get it out and inspected.
