Default When to change cam belt?

Hi all

Looking for some advice please.

Just had my Fiesta 2010 through an MOT/service. All fine except garage recommended possibly changing the cam belt as an advisory.

We bought it because it has a ridiculously low mileage - less than 24,000 on the clock this morning. No service history though.

Since we bought it a couple of years ago we've replaced the brake pads, tires, battery, etc which were all the originals and just wore down over time. We think the first owner just drove it every so often.

The car is in good condition and works very well.

I know it's supposed to be every 10 years or 100,000 miles but is it necessary to change the cam belt now? What do you think?

Cheers

James

Thanks, yeah think we're going to change it to be on the safe side. Probably fine but who knows?

Depends on the engine. 8 years for the Zetec-S engine, 10 for the Duratorq diesel ones.

Change it NOW!
