On my Cossie power steer rack it has a sleeve and bush to mount the rack to the cross member.
on my NON pas (manual non power steering rack) it doesn’t have bushes but the bolt hole is too big for a 12mm bolt, did the manual rack have an insert and bush to stop vibration? Can’t find any bushes listed.
Strange. As far as I know all the standard Sierra racks have rubber bushes in there.
Is it a 4x4 rack though? The 4x4 has the mounting points on the front side of the rack, while the 2wd has them on the rear, so they are not interchangeable. And all the original 4x4 racks have PAS.

i think I will be sending it back.
it isn’t a 4x4 rack as I want a manual rack for the car. I plan to add a quick rack to it and corsa b elec pas. If it becomes an issue I will just use the 4x4 pas rack.
i have a tubular cross member as the engine is chassis mounted so I can adapt as I build it.
Just found an online user manual. It shows a small pic of the manual rack and does look to be solid mounted. Still doesn’t explain why an m12 rattles around a bit unless it relies on the pinch from above and below. I could drill it and turn up an ally hard bush but prefer not to.
Found some cross member pics of manual racks Sierra 2wd’s it does look like a pinch fitting. Maybe captive nut or threaded bottom on the cross member and top pinches it?
