Been a great event so far with huge amount of Fords on display including the new transit Supervan only 2000ps but only downside its electric, I have a ticket for tomorrow so taking the Ford along to big up the blue oval, For those interested being shown live on facebook & youtube, heres a few pics I have collated
Your car is looking good. Is it going to be on display?
I was parked in the supercar paddock area lol, as the ticket I had included prime parking But I never knew as I never booked it , so parked with cars that had values of telephone numbers was an eye opener , but in fairness to the owners they were really down to earth and very chatty, and even had a few look around mine and got a thumbs up, but had a great today today start to finish as had a mini convoy with a Mk2 Focus RS and Maclaren 765lt with 2 great chaps from hampshire got decent pic on Nigel
Was a great day. Hickman was there on one of his winning Gas Monkey TT bikes as well absolute legend
what I did learn is you have to plan where you will be at certain times to enable best positions for spectating, lucky for me the chaps I was with are regulars and we had awesome locations, I was parked in vip parking lol and has meal and drinks as part of my ticket so I was happy as larry, so much to see totally get why its on over 4days as you need that to see it all
Yeah it was very busy we watched a few bits in the grandstand. But at 2 had a walk round the rally bit then back down for 3. We stood at the straight after the flint wall to watch the really fast stuff really go up the straight. Travis took the top corner sideways flat out lol
I've always fancied this show but I think it will be full of posh people.
I have attended RSOC events that have been more snobby than this, yes many have some serious money but they are not willy waving like some do, chap I went with in his Mclaren paid just 500 grand for it and could not have been a nicer guy if he tried
it was a tiny car smaller than a classic mini with giant fan underneath sucking it to the road, totally appreciate its speed but EVs suck

was at startline first thing, then moved up to grandstand and accross to bmw's orchestra and fireworks, then up to flint wall but left there and went up to top paddock about 15mins before Max Chiltons run, of course taking in drivers paddock area and having the pre paid lunch with earl grey of course
managed a quick word with Sung Kang the chap from fast n furious movies up at top paddock area he said same thing as you and me good to see but its not a real car

It was Seriously quick but with 1000bhp no gear changing, small and very light weight it should be. I was pleased that there were still some petrol engined cars that got pretty close to it but with so much more noise and excitement!!! I managed to find some very interesting cars as well as the supercars, F1s etc. Formula 1 Aston martin safety car. Lovely period V6 Capri. A stunning Escort mk2 race car. A nice 1965 Porsche 911 race car.It had 6 single IDF downdraught Webers which I did not know were available. Batwing BMW 3.0CSL race car. Audi Quatro early 4wd group B rally car. Classic BMW E30 M3 very nice!!!! I think it is normally in the BMW museum. Classic AMG 190E Merc This was something really special. Built from the ground up with a 450 bhp BMW V8 coupled to a 7 speed sequential M3 gearbox, custom suspension rear diff etc. It took the guy 4 years to build it, it must go like a rocket!!! My favourite car I found even though I am not a New mini fan this is road registered and must be awesome to dive!!!! My son thought it was awesome as well.
The owner said it was bloody quick on trackdays and also on the road!! You think what the power to weight ratio must be!! It had been done so well it looked like it was a brand new factory made super mini.It was my favourite car I saw at the show.

ive seen more intresting pics on here than i saw on tv. i was only saying to the wife its a shame they didnt show a more indepth of engines and chassis set up. they should race the cars in there own catagories. four wheel drive ev has a much more unfare advantage. i do like travis whatch his life story he is incredable and fair play to his parents for such support

Hi Ray, even though the new hill run record has been broken by the 1000bhp EV there were still a few petrol engined cars that got pretty close to it's time despite having to change gears as well as steering them. The sound of the full on petrol engines at their limits beats the virtually silent EV cars every time!!!!!

There was that 1000bhp viper was fast. The old boy in the nascar he was very surprisingly fast for such a car. Travis Pastrana was very fast but think his was more bravery lol that guys nuts

I think for sheer driving skill and big balls the guys going up the hill in the off road 4wd monsters were hard to beat!!! Those vehicles are definitely not designed for smooth tarmac tracks!!
in this documentary of travis pastrana theres a bit of him when he was little. his parents was sitting in whatching tv or somthing when the house shook his dad looked out the window he said its only trvis playing with the excavator round the side of the house
Thing is even me and other chaps that attended it our pics dont do the event justice as there was so much going on all around its really is impossible to fit it in in just a day, makes perfect sense why its on for 4 days and if you have finances and time this is the way to go, retail & trade village, supercar paddock, Rally Stage, off road arena, stunt shows etc etc etc

I don't think there is another event that has so much to offer, worth every penny of the ticket price!!
I didn’t even realise it was so expensive. Last time I went myself sure I paid about 60 quid. Work paid 180 with a brochure and paddock stand pass
I was very lucky as I was gifted a Corporate ticket for BMW hospitality by a friend who could not attend as his father is very unwell , so did not know what it covered until I got there on the day, had Vip parking, breakfast.lunch and access to all areas, hate to think what that would have cost
It is a great event. It has become a bit too busy over the last 10 yrs…it can be hard to get to see all of the action.
Posh people are not too scary anyway, I wouldn’t worry about those in any situation. We used to go to a posh restaurant and used the same taxi driver each time, he always asked about the food etc so we offered to treat him and his Mrs to an evening out there but he declined, said he would love to go but was too scared of embarrassment if he didn’t know what knife to use etc…, I found that quite sad to hear really….people should be able to experience everything.

bang on, I had the invite for breakfast and lunch in the vip hospitality area, no kidding you one chap dressed in tweed was f-ing and blinding and chomping his food with gob open like a market trader selling fruit and veg in petticoat lane market and he was as posh as they come , everyones shit stinks no matter how its wrapped up at the bar at lunchtime chap basically said to those in it who wants a drink as his shout , must have been 30+ in there and he paid the lot, so good and bad everywhere as chap we went with a brand new Mclaren 765lt and was nicest bloke you could want to meet
I have been quite a few times and have never noticed any "posh people" showing off or talking down to others. There is always a mix of people from all parts of society and I would say the vast majority of people are just ordinary who once a year treat themselves to a brilliant show. The only thing I am going to do next year is pay a bit more for one of the grandstand seats as it is difficult to get a good trackside spot due to the large crowd!!
