Does anyone know if the box off a cvh XR2i 1991 will fit an S2 rs turbo ? Mine needs a rebuild and they're quoting up to 8 weeks but I have a 2i engine and box in the unot and was wondering if it would work so I could keep using the car whilst the rst box is being reconditioned

Yes. Just won't fit in the S1 as the MK3 Escort had different gearbox mounts and therefore the bellhousing was different.

But: Depending on when your car was built (pre August 86 cars with push down reverse) you might face some stiff gearchange. With a later MK4 Escort everything will be fine. Speedo drive might be different, you should just swap it to be on the safe side.
