If I remember right, light comes on for up to 20 seconds whilst the system tests and pressurises. It should then go out until you reach about 20 mph unless there is a problem with a speed sensor when it will retest and come back on

Just messed about with mine after changing the dash and having the pump off. The light goes out as soon as the system has built up pressure.

Mine certainly doesn’t have to move up to 20mph to go out? If I ignition on mine goes out in about 5-10 seconds once it’s built up pressure

Yep if I ignition on you hear the pump going and the abs warning light is on. After 5-10 seconds the pump will stop and the light goes out.
Do you hear the pump going? Have you checked the two fuses and relays under the glove box area
