Hey guys has anyone every used an accumulator from another vehicle to replace the accumulator on the Cosworth's unit, I have been looking at the Land Rover p38 they look similar only difference I can see is the p38's pressure rating is at 200 bar, hopefully some one can shed some light on this

Hello, I`m also interested about this. If thinking technically how this accumulator works it might be possible to use some other one also, because:

-the ABS accumulator is a storage device in which the hydraulic pressure that is required for the brake's hold-release-reapply cycle is stored.
-pressure switch shall stop ABS pump, when correct pressure is reached, so break fluid pressure will be exactly same, even different accumulator is used

So, if new accumulator pressure rating is higher or same comparing to original one, I don`t see any reasons, why it can`t be used.

Here is also picture, how bad accumulator can be tested:

1. use some not sharp edged stick or similar tool to check how deep it goes

There is reason, if nitrogen has got way out from the accumulator and recharging doesn`t fix that problem.
