1.6 EFI CVH with T3 turbo - high idle and holding back
Hi Guys,
I have recently purchased an escort fitted with a 1.6 EFI CVH fiesta RS engine which isn't running right. The turbo has been converted from the fiesta t2 to an escort t3 and its fitted with a 2.5" turbo back system, K&N intake and adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
The car is idling around 1k rpm and feels like it's holding back when on full acceleration. I was told by the guy who I purchased it from that a powerchip will sort this - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123746444263?hash=item1ccfdce3e7:g:J2EAAOSw30tZuQa V
I have, however, spoken to Norris Motorsport and they advised against doing this, saying it would need a stand alone mangement system fitted...
I don't have any future plans to increase its performance and simply want to get it running right on the parts that are currently fitted. I am therefore looking for your ideas and suggestions on how to achieve this without a stand alone management system.
Thanks

You don't need a standalone mate , they talking tripe especially of your not planning on pushing it anymore . Give James Hainsworth a call at C&J Autoservices he will put it right
Thanks for the suggestion, I have sent james an email. Do you know of anyone nearer to Cambridgeshire as he's over 150 miles from me?
