Hi all
just getting all parts for a new front strut for lads fiesta, (don't seem to do everything fitted so just exchange the units on the car)
read it some where but can't find it, on the top mount there is a square marker/niche that shows which why to fit top mount (bottom of photo)
which way should it point ?

It looks symmetrical so won't matter. Unless you mean which way should the studs point, in which case, up.

 

no i think that the square lug is mean to point towads something
maybe its pointing to wheel side ?

 

It will be pretty obvious if there is a notch for that to locate in, but i highly doubt there is, theres no reason for it to need one. Its the same whatever orientation you have it, the top sits up flat against the inner strut tower, and it can't move as it will be bolted from the top.

 

You haven't said which year/mark Fiesta this is, but if its as special fitment as you think, a google should bring up results, you wouldn't be the first to query it! Having fitted countless top mounts, you're overthinking it, it'll be obvious when you've got the assembly in front of the car

 

maybe over thinking it (that would be normal for me)
I've lined up the square marker with a line that'smarked on the plastic cap the spring rests on ( part 8 in the above diagram)
I'll line the lot up pointting towards the wheel when i fit it
