Just changed my valve seals and I'm now with some questions because of something I read...
I bought some Viton ones (brown) that weren't a perfect fit. They went in too easy for my taste in the inlet side and I thought they might come loose with valve movement.
So I decided to buy different ones (green).
The problem is the green ones had to stretch to fit over the valves themselves. You can see in the picture that the inner diameter is way smaller.
Am I safe running it like this?
1- Will the fact that the seals are too tight on the valve prevent valve guide lubrication and lead to wear?
2- Will the seals wear off in no time because they were stretched?
Any input would be great since I will be doing a big trip in one week...
Thanks guys
...They are different..7.0 inlet and 8.0 exhaust mm..check this first.....did few times head overhaul and i can say that i noticed any difference between green and brown seals...
I'm not talking about exhaust seals. Those went in just fine.
I ordered 2 sets for the inlet. The viton and some normal ones and there lies the problem.
I didnt go for the Viton ones because I felt they went in too easy. It was a pain to take out the ones that were there.
But the ones I put had the hole in the center (valve hole) way smaller than the Viton and the standard ones.
I'm afraid they will starve the valve guide from oil.
The engine is already closed but I read this somewere and I'm afraid now... I will do it again if I have to...
Any idea?

Make sure that you have original Victor Reinz, ELRING, or Payen seals. Leaking valve seals cause oil consumption. Seals can be also changed, when head is installed.
