Sapphire temperature gauge problem

Default Sapphire temperature gauge problem

Have a Sapphire temperature gauge problem , the sender is a brand new unit and iv tryed differnt clocks , my problem is that when I start the car cold my gauge started to go up instantly and when ya car gets warm it just goes to the red as if its over heating and car is not over heating , what else could it be anyone got a wiring diagram or anything thanks

There are different colours of sender units that are matched to the dash, you might have been supplied the wrong one for your car?

the one I got seams to have no colour on it and way to find out colour I need

Does it also go up when you turn the key without starting the engine?

no I think when ignition is on without running it stays down but need to double check

How helpful are your Ford dealers over in Ireland?
Might be worth giving them your vin and seeing if they are still available or know the colour code?

Probably not as Ford usually lists all colour options. The spare parts catalogue just says: Order the colour you have right now.

You need one that has a black ring at the bottom of the threaded end which the connector goes on. Mine is a 2wd Sapphire Cosworth.
