Hi I’ve been offered all this for £1500

custom lightened and balanced flywheel
Racing clutch
gearbox and shafts
short shifter and linkage
uprated gearbox mounts
£1500

what I would like to know is A is it worth it B will it fit relatively easy C what would I have to mod on my car to get it to work. Or should I go down a different root?

Difficult to quantify if it worth it for you. What power do you have? How many BC boxes have you destroyed? That should help you decide.

I actually haven’t fitted the engine yet as I’m going to strip the car and have a full respray top and bottom, the spec of things I have are 2.1 zvh stage 2 head newman cam with solid lifters stage 3 turbo grs front mount, go tech management air tec rad, I’ve not blown any bc boxes still running on the original car is 190hp on 16 cvh at the moment but don’t want to fully rebuild and the blow the original box and have to take it apart again! I’m hoping the car will make 250 minimum when it’s done?

 

Honestly you are better off going MTX, unless you want to be shifting gears nonstop because of the ratios on the getrag box.

Everyone that I've spoken to who has fitted them to 200hp+ zetecs just complains about them. It's why I shoved a MTX75 into my ST170 Fiesta.

 

Currently thinking of getting 6 speed I am close to sourcing parts but lack of mk1/2 mondeo I can’t find the mount to use half sharfts on the sliver top bloke, will any others work or is there someone that could help in fabricate something

 

Cant speak for the 6 speed half shaft mount, on my MTX75 im using Mk2 Diesel Focus drive shafts and the Mk2 Focus Diesel half shaft mount that I cut and welded onto a plate, lined up with the mk1 eye ball and mig'd the bastard straight on. Runs true so I got lucky.
