Default Sierra cosworth 2WD first gear grind from full stop

Hi guys

I've been having an issue ever since I rebuilt my T5.
Changed synchros and stuff but forgot to change the pilot bearing.
And it grinds if I engage first gear from a full stop... I've since changed the pilot bearing but the problem persists...

Can someone help?

Thanks

It sounds like the clutch is not fully disengaging.

Thanks for the input but I've disabled the automatic ratchet adjuster and adjusted it to the max to make sure the clutch is disengaging properly...

If the car is standing still the gearbox output shaft is also standing still. If the clutch is fully disengaged the input shaft should also be standing still and there should be no speed difference between the gears and the synchro rings, so it shouldn't be able to make a grinding noise.

If you press the clutch with the car in neutral, then start the car and put it in first gear, does it also make the grinding noise? It could also be that the pilot bearing is dragging the input shaft with it.

I've changed the pilot bearing for a new one last weekend. It's not the pilot bearing.

I'll try out what you said and get back to you.

Did what you said and I get no grind if I start the car with clutch down... It's the gearbox... Thanks a lot for the input!
