hey guys,

few questions about building an rs turbo,

i can get the engine and all the rest of the working parts quite cheap but can i just put it into any shell? or will it have to be an xr2i or xr3i???

 

should be ok with any shell but remeber that these project start cheap but then get lots of cash lavished on them and that causes a problem when you sell it on, if it ain't an rs shell then it won't be worth as much!!!

A truly mint rs turbo was on this site for sale, really stunning and worth 5K but as it was shelled into an xr31 it struggled to make 3.5K.

RS S2's are so cheap now that you can get them from a grand or less and 2.5K gets a really decent motor above that at you nearing show cars

 

magic m8.... well i've been told by my m8 down the street (who does all sorts of conversions) that if i have £1000 he can build me a good turbo,

does this sound ok???

 

not a bad price if you are dropping off a shell and boxes full of bits, what's your total spend going to be including his labour and buying all the parts and shell etc??

Might be cheaper to buy one ready done, ebay is full of S2's £1500 should see you in a tidy one with 180bhp with a bit of searching, then when your done with it, flog it on, that is if you ever go back!!!

 

no m8 £1000 for the full thing, includes, Full RS Engine and shell from either xr3i or xr2i which ever i prefer,

obviously then i'm goin to need to source the interior and i can do the respray and everything myself if the shell aint in too good nick or i want to change the colour

so is £1000 good or bad?? i've seen and drove some of his work and by fuck they're fast, he's done everything from uno turbos, plenty of rs turbos, he's currently working on a AWD Astra Van which is fuckin crazy man... so i know what he can do just makin sure £1000 is a good price 4 all the work carried out

good price, especially as he sounds like he knows what he is doing, some breakers on the site who may be able source an RS shell for you, would be worth it over the xr3i

 

cool m8... any idea how much an rs shell would cost??? as i've pretty much got most of the cash waiting and i want on it right away so i can start to save to get the civic turbo'd!!!
