Hi the above has come up on my dashboard with battery light on I have a 2017 Ford Edge new battery fitted 6 months ago set up on forscan to correct battery settings but charging system service now has come on dashboard with battery light on battery still reads 13.7 volts with engine running and 12. 7 stopped any ideas to what is wrong

 

If you have forscan, have you scanned the car???

 

Smart-charge systen not working. Alternator is in the 'dumb' mode and only gives 13.7 or 13.8 volts.
Did you use the prescribed battery type when replacing the battery?

 

Yes it is the correct battery type and it has been working okay for 6 months only started after connecting trailer lights

 

I have forscan but I am cautious about using it as frightened to cock it up when I fitted battery I updated it to new battery and for 6 months it’s been okay only started when I connected trailer lights says something like battery error and something about steering module in sccm module I will connect it again and see what it says can not find ware I updated battery now
