Can anyone tell me who supplies the Throttle Position Sensors for a 2wd Sapphire please? Am i right in thinking the 4wds are different other than the colour?

They are yes, PF01=2WD, PF09=4x4 the difference is the former contains a switch, which is used as a reference to activate idle strategies.

PF01 is very hard to get hold of now, I do have one but want to keep that myself in case I ever need it myself, 4x4 is more readily available and is the same as some Ducati motorcycles I think.

Thanks for that, do you know if the PF09 4x4 item can be fitted to the 2wd cars and work as it should?

No it can't, as it has no switch. Conversely, you can not use a PF01 on 4x4.

I'm surprised at them stating that.

It would work and I have known it to be done, however it does not mean it's correct.

The idle and overrun strategies would not work.

At closed throttle, the PF01 is open circuit (the reason for the switch) it is this signal the ECU references.

You can use a PF09 on a 2WD with no problems. You just need to swap the 2 outer wires in the plug round as the polarity is the opposite way to the PF01.

Quite often recommended upgrade as the PF09 is meant to be more reliable !

Contacted a few Cosworth specialists and none have the PF01 in stock anymore, and reading through threads on here leads me to believe that i should not use the PF09 on my L6 ecu 2wd car.
So my options are limited unless someone reproduces a batch of the PF01s.
