That's me had my C63 for a year now.... Its a 58 plate car now with 90000 miles on the clock.
It Has cost me 10 grand to run..... 6 grand in servicing and maintenence either at the main dealer or Mercedes specialist always using genuine parts.
It's never let me down by not starting or breaking down, even when one injector failed....
I've had a couple of bits of bad luck where road debris has damaged a trans Oil cooler and ripped a rear tyre but the rest was general wear and tear.... Wheel bearings.... Suspension arm ball joints.... 3 pairs of rear tyres at 400 a pair .... Engine servicing... Transmission servicing Etc
It's also cost me 4 grand in petrol to do 12000 miles.
It's been thrashed on the drag strip and on the road...
A little bit out my price range realistically But I haven't enjoyed driving so much since my days of stage 3 cosworth bmw ownership and don't regret it for a moment but hopefully year 2s a bit cheaper
I just spent 1500 today on a front camber arm... 2 front castor Arms... Wheel alignment .... Handbrake shoes.... An mot and an A service including brake fluids.... Its a big engine and takes 8.5 litres of engine oil
How does that compare to what you guys are driving.... What do you spend over a year when you add it all up?
To be honest at least half my 12000 miles have been to no where.... Driving just for driving sake....
I could easily have saved 2 to 3 grand in fuel..... 800 on rear tyres etc but I can't resist puting the foot down....
The A service was only 288......the camber and control arms cost 700 quid from Mercedes....
Motor factor parts would be cheaper but its to high a performance car to cut corners
The road damage to the oil cooler and tyre cost the best part of 1200 quid to put right....
I also got the spark plugs changed and transmission service including new sump pan just because I could see no record of it in the service history.... That was another 900 quid or so....
Even after reading this I am still tempted by one of these!
It's an amazing car..... The noise from the 6.2 V8 still makes me smile every time I start it.
And to be fair I did do my research and was well aware what I was buying into....
As said, fair play for being honest, but you only live once, we had few motorhomes/static caravans over the years, are they expensive yes, do they depreciate a lot yes, do I regret them not a bit cos we as a family had fun and enjoyment with them over many years, glad we not got them any more as this year would been a washout with all the restrictions.

if i could afford the bills i'd run a posh motor
but i can't, so i don't
even when i did i could'nt
Worth every pound for that feeling of superior smugness when you fly past some clown in a C220 cdi with a snidey AMG badge on his bootlid trying to out drag you not knowing how badly he's embarrassing himself
Biggest costs have been....
Oil cooler damage and service 1197
Camber arm 519
Injector 610
Front wheel bearings and prop doughnut 949
Mot, service A, camber arm, 2 castor Arms hand brake shoes 1504
Rear tyres 3 pairs 1200
1 pair front tyres 300
Replacement badges 245
Trans service Inc replacing damaged sump pan 295
8 plugs 200
Rest was bits and bobs....
And mine was a well cared for example with full main dealer service history and never late for a service.....

So far I've been lucky, stage 2 mapped Audi S4 466bhp / 430 lbs ft (supercharged V6) just costs me fuel, servicing and cheapish road tax.
Tyres last well and it is surprisingly good on fuel with the 7 speed DSG - I REALLY miss a manual gearbox though but not available with the B8.5
Reading some of the online stuff other owners expect to pay an average of 500 a month to run one of these...so 6 grand a year.. If I didn't go OTT with mine I could achieve that easily.
I have a cheap lifestyle otherwise so its not to bad although a coke habit would be cheaper to maintain
Three pairs of rear tyres 🤣😂🤣😂
At least it’s getting maintained properly. Loads of folk can afford to buy performance cars but not all can afford to look after them.

I looked at similar aged 2008/2010 RS4s at the same time I was looking at C63 a but there was more online scare stories with higher repair bills with the audi although they do seem to respond better to tuning !
also considered bentley continental gt's but 1500 quid for one front brake disc at eurocarparts quickly ended that thought ! plus a bentley continental parked outside my little council house in the rough part of town might look a little suspiscious...
Should be in my sig picture, but that's disapeared.?
i dont want to run this into the ground....uncrashed c63s seem to hold their money reasonably well, even early ones like mine still hover around the 15 grand mark.
ill maybe upgrade to the newer shape 15 plate 4 litre twin turbo in a year or 2 but the merc specialist tells me scare stories of those having engine and transmission issues....
i dont think electric cars will ever interest me, even though the performance can be better.

I bet Ł125 a week wouldn't buy much Columbian finest nowadays mate 😂🤣
For the pleasure you clearly get from the car Ł6k a year is well worth it pal 👌👍

My GL63 Merc is bad on fuel, really bad even at cruise, but my c7 RS6 is really good at cruise it knocks off 4 cylinders almost 30 mpg it's incredible really if I didn't need 7 seats it would still be my daily 100%
my old neighbour just got one its three year old he had brake pads oil change Ł400 at merc he,s retired mechanic or took early redundancy he said he got
my nieghbour just bought one three year old had brake pads and iol change Ł400 from merc he,s just got Ł100 grand redundancy he said fuk it why not. theres plenty of independant merc poeple about that are good and a fraction of the main dealer just get some recommendations first most patern parts are very good these days eruo car parts altinators are to be kept away from
Klasse series automotive are local specialists that do mine, they only fit genuine main dealer parts.... The pics are taken in their garage in West Lothian for their Facebook page. .

Just put a bag of flour on the back seat and i'm sure it will all fit together like the best puzzle

Didn't you have a rolls or a Bentley or something a few years ago?
I bet if most of you added everything up like I have you'd be surprised at how much you've spent
we got a astra hatch back 11 plate in the last 12 months we spent Ł350 part of that was mot broken spring and may just gone yet another broken spring on the other side my wife works in the coop they got bloody great speed humps. year before was les than hundred quid a tyre and mot
You must have way to much money 10k to maintain a car..
In the year of owning my mondeo I bet I haven't spent 500 quid on it. I bought a few tyres and a second hand dpf for it. Replaced the timing belt+water pump that was about 60 quid for the bits. I do all my work myself.
I'm not loaded.... Im in a decent job, I live in a council house with no garage since my ex wife kept our house with the workshop and drive so I don't do any of the work myself, I have no interest in where I live really.... Its just somewhere to sleep at night .... Not much debt.probably have 50 to 60% of my wages left once I've paid all my bills.
my cars my pleasure but admittedly my savings have taken a hammering this year
It's a dream car.... The sort of car most petrol heads would love to own at some time but high performance comes with high costs.
Nothing I have owned has attracted more attention.... Not even the cosworth powered celica or cosworth powered bmw e30...
Yeh im not being bitchy about how much people spend but I know I couldnt afford to maintain cars like this hence why my daily is a mk4 mondeo and the wife has a mk2 focus.
Yeh ive got my cossie but I try to get the best parts for cheapest price I can.
But yeh your Merc is a nice car and if I won the lotto i would buy one to put in a garage of non Fords ha ha.
No probs.... I'm didn't think anyone's being bitchy... It just depends on what's important to you and what stage of your life your at.... I'm older., living on my own ...kids are growing up so I'm not fussed about a fancy house...
As the old saying goes you can sleep in a car but you can't race a house
The new Mrs fuzzy is loaded though so I need to stick in there for when my savings have ran out
And just to confirm, no i wasn't bitching with the comment I made.
Like you say fuzzy, sometimes its down to what stage of life you are in and what means the most to you. I'm right in the thick of mortgage and kids etc at the moment, so disposable cash is limited.
Cars and bikes are pretty much all im interested in, so what cash i do have goes on that once the mrs and kids have rinsed me!
With regards to the latest 'mrs fuzzy' - if she's loaded keep hold of her!
