escort mk4 1.8 blacktop conversion
I'm converting my mk4 xr3i cabbie to an 1.8 blacktop and stubled on 2 problems.
1: the cvh engine mount needs to be altered, there is plenty on this to be found on the internet regarding the silvertop. It seems that the blacktop mouting holes are wider than the silvertop with the result that not 2 of the 3 mounting holes but 1 of the mounting holes fit by default. But what puzzels me more is how the nut and thread part of the mount are going to sit. By the looks of it, it will hit the timing cover or even the block.

Do I need to grind anything off the cover or block, or is it sufficient to trim the thread a little?
2: the alternator bracket. I have the mk4 bracket that has the tensioner arm at the top. This is hitting the waterpump. Do i need a different bracket or are there other options?
this is where it needs to sit, as you can see the waterpump is in the way.

this is the bracket I have

any help is really appreciated.
