Default How to enable dvd watching function in moving car....?

Just found out today I can play dvds in my car stereo on the screen on my dash.... Obviously it fades out when moving so the driver isn't distracted.....
Is it possible to disable that fade out function so my kids can watch while I drive?

depends how it is connected, it used to be a wire connected to the handbrake switch. Maybe its something similar but knowing Mercedes its probably coded in some how.

Yes.... It'll most likely be a nerd with a laptop required rather than a mechanic with a screwdriver

My AMG E55 was obviously an older model but it was simply a multiple button press to enable it, you had to do a sequence of presses.

I expect yours will be a can bus signal off the speed / movement sensor or a park switch?...sounds like one for an AMG merc forum.

My Rangie has a prismatic screen so the wife can watch a DVD from her seat and I can look at the sat nav without each other seeing what the other sees. Clever stuff!

I seen that in a range rover before.... Playing 2 different things on the same screen at the same time.... Its witchcraft
Mine is to old for that new fangled stuff.... 2008 so probably about the same era as your E55?
