Default Williams family out of F1

Well I guess it was on the cards when the Williams F1 team was sold, but now its official Sir Frank and Claire Williams are walking away from the sport.
Williams have been such an iconic team in F1 for all of my life and achieved so much. Was so hoping the team would return to greatness one day and was pretty disappointed when the team went up for sale - and now gutted that the family will no longer be a part of F1.
It was while watching Nigel Mansell in the 80's when I was a kid that I first became a fan of the team and F1 in general. Then when he finally got the world title in 92 with the team was epic. They were such a dominant team, and now its come to this. Sad times.
I really hope the new owners retain the Williams name.

Thank you Sir Frank, I wish you and your family all the best.

Finished watching the f1 documentary series on Netflix recently and i think thats from 2017/18 and things looked gloomy back then.

Sign of the times unfortunately.

I agree with you, very sad to see the sale of the Williams F1 team. What has'nt been explained very well is what exactly the company that has bought it will be doing next season?

The tribute piece they put on C4 before the Quali had a lump in my throat.

Such a shame.

Cracking race on Sunday. Really entertaining.

Ferrari are garbage this season.

I agree with you Glenn about Sunday's race , It was the most exciting one for ages. I know Lewis Hamilton is a superb driver but lately it has become a bit boring with him winning every time. So nice to see a fresh winner!

So what is happening to the team for the rest of this season? There has not really been much information how this new mob are going to do things, Who is the new team boss, are all the engineers still carrying on etc?

I like to see Hamilton win but it was good to see some of the drivers who are normally stuck in the middle of the pack do well.

I said to the Mrs ages ago I would like to see Hamilton be placed last and see how far up the pack he could get.

Seems like a good choice for now, at least they have'nt bought in someone who would not be familiar with the Williams way of doing things.

What would be interesting would be to put Hamilton into one of the other makes of cars and see where he could finish.

I'd imagine he would still do pretty well. He may not win but I doubt he'd be far behind. It would be very interesting to see what he could do in the 'Racing Point'.
