Historic Gold Cup 2020

Rear geometry and damper setup for HSCC Gold Cup

Winners of race 2 2nd in race 1

One of the cars I run in the classic touring car championship. All came together at the weekend after we spent the last 2 years rebuilding this 2000 spec Supertourer.

The era when saloon cars had infinity budgets. Car builds on nearly a million pound each. You can see why and where these cars cost so much.
We managed a fastest saloon car lap too. In the 1m46sec for Oulton is almost as fast as they were running back in the pro teams late 90s.
Just a second to find to match them.

The mid 90s were the classic touring car years... I always wanted an alf 155....or a Toyota carina....

Oh yeah. The 98 to 2000 BTCC was where it was at for me. Cleland and Muller in the Vauxhall's, Plato was in a Renault I think, I can't remember if Anthony Reid had gone to Nissan by then or was still in a Mondeo, Matt Neal was an independent (he just had his 700th BTCC race last weekend!!!)

Yes even the lagunas and the volvos were great looking classics compared to today's bland boxes ... But maybe that's just age worn rose tinted specs.....

We still race against Cleland from time to time.
These old girls are still fast but take some looking after that's for sure.
